Our Story:
Serving Folsom, California Since 1995
Our story began in 1995, when Founder and President, Gerry Gasber left a commission-based firm to create a practice built on independence and client-first values. Guided by the principles of honesty and stewardship, Gerry established Gasber Financial Advisors to offer objective, fee-only financial advice without the influence of commissions or product sales.
In the years that followed, Karen Miller joined as the Director of Financial Planning, bringing a client-centered approach rooted in education, empathy, and dedication to serving her Clients. Together, Gerry and Karen are a team dedicated to helping families and professionals achieve financial independence with clarity and confidence.

About
Gerald Gasber
Founder and President of Gasber Financial Advisors, Inc.
Gerald E. Gasber is the Founder and President of Gasber Financial Advisors, Inc. With a financial services career that spans over four decades, Gerry brings a wealth of experience and education to bear when assisting his clients in the achievement of their most important financial goals.
A graduate of the Honors Program at the University of California at Davis, Gerry received his Bachelor’s degree with a major in History in 1974. He also studied abroad at the George August University in Goettingen, Germany. Gerry began his financial services career in 1979 as a stockbroker with the Wall Street firm of Kidder Peabody & Co. In 1983, Gerry left Kidder Peabody & Co. to found his first personal financial planning firm.
In the same year, he also completed his studies through the College for Financial Planning, earning the designation of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ (CFP®), Designations of Certified Fund Specialist (CFS), Certified Investment Management Consultant (CIMC®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) were conferred in 1993, 1996 and 2004. In 2017, Gerry added the designation of Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) which demonstrates his knowledge of, expertise in and commitment to working with retirement plans such as 401(k) plans. Most recently in 2023, Gerry completed the Fundamentals of Alternative Investments program offered through the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA).
Throughout his career, Gerry has served in various leadership roles including Director of Professional Education and President of the Financial Planning Association of Northern California. A dynamic speaker, Gerry has conducted hundreds of public seminars on the subjects of financial planning and investment management. He has been quoted on financial matters in Financial Planning Magazine, Comstock Magazine, the Sacramento Bee and Assets Magazine. Professional affiliations include the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Financial Planning Association, the Investment Management Consultants Association, the Association of Pension Professionals & Actuaries and the Institute of Certified Fund Specialists.
When he is not serving his clients, Gerry values his time at home with Jan, his wife of 42 years and an undisclosed number of cats. Pastimes include a lifelong passion for high performance cars, reading (professional and novels) and movies.

Karen Miller
Director of Financial Planning
Karen Miller joined Gasber Financial Advisors, Inc. in November 1994 after a ten-year career with Macy’s in sales and management. At Macy’s, she learned that the core of excellent service consists of careful listening and attention to detail. Today, Karen believes that financial independence should be a realistic goal for everyone, and that getting there should not be a painful experience.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento in 1987, a Paralegal Certificate from MTI Western Business College and completion of the Paraplanner program through the College of Financial Planning in Denver, both in 1994, a certificate in Personal Financial Planning from UC Davis Extension and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification (CFP®) in 2013 and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA), a specialized designation in 401(k) plan management in 2015.
As Director of Financial Planning Services, Karen works with clients in the development and implementation of their customized personal financial plan. This collaborative process starts with the development of personal financial goals, continues with the identification of assets, liabilities and opportunities and concludes with the creation of sophisticated financial strategies. Through regular quarterly meetings, Karen ensures that the plan is implemented, modifications and updates are made as needed and ultimately, goals are achieved. Karen also works closely with Gerry in the investment and management of client investment portfolios. Because Karen believes so strongly in the value of financial planning she has given freely of her time in support of the Financial Planning Association of Northern California, serving four years in the position of Co-Director of Membership, serving as President Elect in 2018 and as President in 2019. She returned to the Board in 2023 as Treasurer.
Karen is a California native and when she’s not in the office you can find her spinning at the local cycling studio, working out, and enjoying the outdoors with her family and friends.

Lisa Trejo
Client Service Specialist
Lisa joined Gasber Financial Advisors, Inc. in September 2015 as a Client Service Specialist. She brings over 29 years of customer service experience and more than 26 years in the financial industry, with a background in banking, consumer lending, and mortgage. Lisa is known for her exceptional client care and deep industry knowledge, which she uses to help clients feel confident in making informed financial decisions for their families. A commissioned Notary Public since 1999, Lisa adds an extra layer of trust and professionalism to every client interaction.
Born and raised in East Sacramento, Lisa still has strong roots in the community. When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her gardening or spending quality time with her large, blended family.
